Who We Are

Getting to meet Buddy Valastro

For over thirty years, Sue Baisden has been baking and decorating wedding cakes and desserts for the special occasions of family and friends. Because of her delectable recipes and eye for beauty, her talent was consistently in high demand. Sue eventually started her bakery, out of her home, with an identity defined by her classy, elegant style, incredibly moist cakes, and butter-cream made from the finest ingredients.

Catering to the increasing demand, Sue and husband Gary, worked together to open the first cake shop storefront. On March 21st of 2009, the Capital City Cakes opened its doors of their first shop at 3018 E. Broad St. in historic Columbus/Bexley, Ohio area. 

 Now located at 4009 Broadway, Grove City, they are serving their beloved home town and loving it.

Their cake shop has since been featured multiple times in the local media, garnering attention for its distinct designs and from-scratch butter-cream that tops our desserts
