Capital City Cakes & Sweet Treats is a family owned-and-operated bakery and sweet shop that produces quality specialty cakes and baked goods.

Located in the heart of one of Columbus, Ohio's capital cities, Grove City, Capital City Cakes is quickly becoming a Columbus landmark by providing its customers with quality products and friendly, "you're a part of our family" service.

For over 30 years, owner Sue Baisden has been baking and decorating wedding cakes and desserts for the special occasions of family and friends.

Because of her delectable recipes and eye for beauty, her talent was consistently in high demand.  

Sue eventually started her bakery out of her home, with an identity defined by her classy, elegant style, incredibly moist cakes, and buttercream made from the finest ingredients.

Catering to the increasing demand, Sue and husband Gary worked together to open their first cake shop storefront. 

On March 21st of 2009, Capital City Cakes opened its door of their first shop at 3018 E. Broad St. in historic Bexley, OH.

 In January of 2012, the Baisdens made the move to Grove City, expanding their store size and developing a team of bakers, designers and customer service employees.  Located directly in Town Center, the Broadway location offers more space and a large courtyard with live music during the summer months.

Capital City Cakes has since been featured multiple times in the local media, garnering attention for its distinct designs and from-scratch buttercream that tops its desserts.  Plus, the cake artists and designers love a challenge and can create the cake of your dreams!
